We have been providing training since 2011 and we love what we do! We have a wealth of experience gained from providing professional development skills training to thousands of people in universities and organisations around the UK and Europe, in addition to the knowledge gained from being researchers ourselves.
- Electv Training was founded by Dr Joanna Young after she completed her PhD and postdoctoral research in neuroscience and informatics at the University of Edinburgh.
- We are based in Edinburgh, the “Athens of the North”, and we deliver training to clients in locations all over Europe both in person and online.
Our approach
- We aim to inspire, encourage, inform and motivate people through training and by bringing people together to learn, share experiences, network and support each other.
- With a range of over 25 training sessions designed for researchers that cover career planning, essential skills and writing and publishing, we can provide a valuable contribution to researcher training programmes.
- We understand that people learn in different ways and in a variety of circumstances, so we use different methods of delivery for our sessions including in person training, live online sessions and self-paced online courses.
- We also work with clients to develop bespoke courses to suit specific requirements.
Our clients
- We work with universities all over the UK and Europe delivering workshops, longer courses and asynchronous courses both online and in person.
- Our training sessions can be adapted for staff, PGR and PGT students in any subject area.
- We work with over 70 UK universities, a range of CDTs, universities in Europe and the NHS.
- In addition, we have a growing number of individual researchers who access our asynchronous self-paced courses and our live open courses.
